Description
The violin suite by Bach arranged for guitar. Fingering follows a modified "Segovia" model. It is my belief that the melodic and expressive style of arranging typified by Andres Segovia's arrangement of Bach and other composers has not been fully appreciated. Playing in higher positions on the guitar produces a warmer timbre and avoiding open strings on descending scales keeps voice intact. The use of legato marks is to indicate directional tones and such notes may be held longer than written for effect freely by the performer. Other performance notes are included.
