Description
A Sonata by harpsichord master Domenico Scarlatti. Originally in the key of F minor, here arranged for guitar in E minor. One of 30 Sonatas (#19) published in London in 1738 that Scarlatti oversaw during his lifetime. The Sonatas were titled Exercises and this one has a tempo marking of Allegro-however it should be noted that A. Longo marked it Andante in his publications. In my opinion both tempi work. Care should be taken by guitarists to mute higher strings occasionally on descending passages so "crossover" sounds don't occur and confuse the melodic line.
